Movie Opener Brainstorming & Research.

1. Rise      -  One part of the film opening which I stood out to me the most was the strategic use of short close-up shots in such a variety of creative ways. These close ups show familiar aspects which revolve around the main themes of soccer and athleticism.     - I will definitely consider the use of close up shots throughout my group's comedy film to connect the audience with the main themes. 2. OFFLINE          -  The  beginning  of the film began with a distinct typewriter-style introduction and title sequence. As this set the eerie mood, centered around cell phones and danger that comes with them. The contrast between the shots of a calm girl browsing through her phone, and the distressed girl locked in a cage is what brought this opening to the next level, eliciting confusion and discomfort.     - Although our film isn't going to be dramatic, I enjoyed the effective use of contrast in this...

The contrast between the lives of the twins. Since they did not grow up with one another, they led completely different lives. Though only children, the manner in which the two live is portrayed by the difference in music played in the background when introducing each character. When the richer twin is shown, she is seen playing a difficult song for her age on the piano in a very large, fancy building where she is dressed in what appears to be her private school's uniform.  How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? 10. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Universal studios credits and the credits of the producers and directors and other people are shown throughout the first animation of the film. What connotations do the images carry? The fact that the movie is funny. How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset? The regular universal soundtrack is replaced by minion voices which makes it funnier. How does the film establish an enigma from the outset? Shows the minion grow up and try to find the strongest boss. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? As the scene continues the boss of the minion keep dying no matter how they find them how much they love them they always die. How has technology been used effectively? You might want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.
