5 master edits with sound

Image
Direct Sound: In this scence I kept in the original sound. I did this because the original sound let the audience hear both the footsteps, and our diolauge when we see eachother in the middle. This lets the auidence feel as if they are right there watching us greet eachother. Voice over: In this scene I did a voice over. I did this so the audience can hear what my though process was during both of these clips. For example, the audience can hear my relaxed thoughts in the first clip, compared to my rushed and nervous thoughts in the second clip.   Music: I put the star wars theme music in these scene. I tried my best to line up the change in the music to when I cut from the trojan logo to the statue. I chose this part of the song because it gives off the emotion of an upgrade as when the music changes to a more louder and up-beat style, it shows the scene going from a little logo to a big statue. Non-Diegetic: In this scene I used  a non-diegetic sound which was a crowde...

5 Master Edits in a Professional Film

This scene uses contrast. At the beginning of this scene, it shows a dark, quite, chill mood inside a car with very little noise and an overall calm atmosphere. But it cuts right to a completely different scene that is much more brighter, louder, and just more colorful in general. This contrast shows the complete shift in energy that goes on for the rest of the show, from a chilled, control mood, to now a wild and unexpectable type show. Now this scene uses parallelism. In this scene, it show two teams going up against each other in a game of tug-of-war, in which the losing team gets knocked off a high platform and fall to their deaths. This game had huge risks and the parallelism did a very good job in showing the difference in attitude between the two teams. The scene continuously switched from one team to another, in which one team were the alpha team, who were very confident and filled with rage, while the other team were noticeably more scared and worried for their life as they kn...

week 3&4: camera angles in major motion pictures

Image
This first shot is a point of view shot. In this scene, Sid was about to burn Woody, but right before Woody and his gang manage to fight back and prevent Sid from doing anything. Since Woody was still in his hands, the camera turned to Sid’s point of view and showed Woody get very angry and telling him to play nice. Having this being said while being in Sid’s point of view helps get the message across that Woody actually meant business and was angry at Sid for trying to do what he did. This is a medium-long shot. In this scene, all of the toy gang finally decide that Sid has done enough torture to them and finally decide to stick up against him. They decided that they have power in numbers, so they decide to all go confront him at once. Having this scene being done as a medium-long shot was very smart in my opinion as it let the scene show its full nature and show all of the gang and Sid’s reaction to their actions. This shot is a reaction shot. In this scene, Sid is about to light a m...

Contrast: In this first shot, it shows me walking into class on time, this is shown by my calm walking posture and hands in my pocket. The next shows shows me being late to class, this is shown by showing me running and in a rush. Symbolism: In the first shot it shows me zooming into the trojan symbol of a jacket, then in the next shot it shows me zooming out of the face of an actual trojan statue. Week 3: commenting on 2 of my peers' post

I first commented on Brett's post, I really liked his  first shot of the extreme long shot, I feel like it looked so cool and really set a  good environment of Lely and showed some of it's nice features. The next shot I liked was his choker shot because the person he filmed did an amazing job acting and it was a good close up of his face. The third shot I liked was the extreme close shot as he did a good job in capturing all of the little details of the eye. I then commented on Carson's post, the first shot I liked from his blog was the high angle shot, I really liked how it set the scene of where the people were talking and it portraied what they were doing very well. I also liked his reaction shot as the acting was amazing and showed how scared he got as his reaction. The third shot I really liked was Carson's pan shot as it did a very good job in showing the environment and vibe of that part of the school.

Week 2- getting started with camera angles

Image
In this shot it shows me holding the phone with the camera focusing on my hand. In this shot Tyler and Brett are talking, with the camera being over the shoulder of tyler. This shot is me being shown from my mid-waist and up. This shot follows Christley walking away from the camera. This shot is of Christley being shown from her knees and up. This shot is a point of view of my opening a door and then going to give Christley a handshake. This shot shows some classmates and their environment. This shot is going up on the vertical axis showing this side of the Lely building. This is a shot that goes from left to right showing off the different attractions in nation square. This shot is a super close shot of my eye that shows some of the detail that can only be seen from up close.

First day of school blog

I am taking AICE media studies this year for two different reasons. One, I want to learn more about the film industry and the components that make it up. And two, I need to take and pass this course in order to graduate with my AICE diploma. My hope for this class are pretty high, I hope by the end of the year to be able to know all about the film industry and to be able to apply this knowledge in some sort of aspect in my life.
